How do you store all of those Reward, Club and Gift Cards?
There are a few different ways I would recommend for you so that you always have them when you need them and they would be easy to find!
First off… if you have a coupon organizer binder, you can use one of your extra 9 pocket insert sheets as a card holder.
I would recommend putting it as the very first page in front of your index.
You can stack the cards back to back to view on each side which would give you 18 slots.
You could even stack them by category too.
If you’re like me, you own a label maker because you like to label everything!
This is a pretty cheap one that does the job!
You can label your 9 pocket insert sheets and stack the cards in each slot!
Another option if you have the coupon organizer binder is the dual sided pouch.
I actually include these in most of the binders I sell in my shop!
One side is a your normal every day pouch that holds everything you need to coupon like your pencils, paperclips, scissors, etc.
The other side actually has slots that are perfect for all those cards!
Another option is actually the one I personally use.
You can have this whether you own a coupon organizer binder or not.
Awhile back my mother-in-law was looking for something to hold all of her gift cards.
She came upon this…
It’s called a Card Cubby.
It’s about the size of a kids juice box and fits easily in your purse.
What’s great about it is… when you open it up there are index cards that are alphabetized to easily store any card you have by its name.
My mother-in-law got one for each of us girls in her family and mine LIVES in my purse!
Whenever I am at a store… I just go to the letter of that store and there’s my card.
I am an animal print girl… so this is the one I have.
Any of the options listed are great options… but the Card Cubby is my favorite!
How do you store yours?
SUPER TARGET Clearance Scenario
My son is back to school for Pre-K and although money is tight… I don’t think it’s fair if he goes to school wearing all of his old cloths from last spring.
I always feel better about buying his cloths as long as I feel I got a good deal or didn’t pay full price.
Right now the Target Coupon Website reloaded their Kids’ Denim Coupon.
You can print it twice for every computer you have… since I have two computers… I got 4 coupons!
(Plus you can call friends and family and ask them to print some out for you too!)
Right now Target has A LOT of clearance items to get ready for their fall collection.
I found this AWESOME pair of denim shorts for my son on the clearance rack!
They were originally $11.99 and on clearance for $5.98…
With my $2.00 off coupon I was able to get them for $3.98!
Total savings: $8.01
My two little girls were starting to get really impatient with my scavenging so I had to leave…
But YOU BET I will be back tomorrow with my other 3 coupons to find a few more.
I will let you know all about it!
If you find any good clearance deals… Please DO share.
Whenever you bring in your morning newspaper… take a few minutes and really dissect all the ads and inserts because you never know what you’re going to find.
Do you get the LA Times?
If you do then there are a couple of things you need to look out for!
The first on is this “mini” 7″x 5″coupon insert.
Because inside are these great coupons!
Then there is the PARADE Magazine:
There is this Wal-Mart insert stuffed in the middle…
…flip it to the back and you’ll find more great coupons!
I don’t receive other national newspapers… but I bet you’ll find the same types of coupons in a paper like the NY Post… and so on.
Here is a good tip to share with you…
When you go shopping, you should always have a little notebook with you for “note” taking.
There are many different kinds to choose from it’s all what you prefer.
The black one in the middle is mine.
Most of the time there will be a place in your organizer that you can store it.
The reason I recommend having one of these is for a random sale you might come across at a store that you’ll want to remember and go back to later.
When I am at TARGET, i’ll sometimes walk up and down isles and jot down little notes and then I’ll go home and get on the Target Coupon site to see if there are any store coupons to “Stack” up with my manufacturer. Or I’ll have a random memory in my head that… “I’m pretty sure I saw a store coupon for that apple juice!”
Then you can go home and do a little homework and find that you can go back and get those items for dirt cheep or free!
In all the organizers I sell… I include a notebook with them. I even try to match them to your binder color!
Right now at Albertons they are having a 10 for $10 deal.
This means all the products are on sale for $1… you don’t HAVE to buy 10 for the deal!
I found a pretty good deal out of it you should check out:
Crest Toothpaste and Oral B Toothbrush
If you still have your P&G Coupon Insert from 7/31 then break it/them out!
First deal is on the Crest Toothpaste.
The coupon is $0.50 off ONE Crest Toothpaste 4oz or more liquid gel.
That’s a 6.4oz Tube of Crest toothpaste for only $0.50!
Next deal is on the toothbrush.
The coupon is $0.75 off TWO Oral-B Indicator or Cavity Defence Manual Toothbrush.
That’s two toothbrushes for $1.25!
Put these two deals together and you have a tube of toothpaste and two toothbrushes for $1.75!
Can’t beat that for under $2.00!!!
I had 4 of each coupon left so I got 4 tubes of toothpaste and 8 toothbrushes for… wait for it…
Here is a sneak peek into the coupon inserts that will be coming out in this Sunday’s papers.
This should help you get a head start on your shopping trips.
Most stores give you a sneak peak into the weekly ads as well, so this way you can beet the other “Extreme” Couponers to the products!
*Note* Not ALL coupon inserts are identical. The more locally published newspapers may have smaller coupon inserts then the national ones. You may find a few of these missing out of your inserts if you are subscribed “smaller” newspapers.
*Tip* I am subscribed to both my local newspaper and also the LA Times so that I can compare what the bigger newspapers have compared to the smaller ones. Sometimes it an additional 10 coupons!

Sometimes it takes someone to inspire you to do certain things and I just want to give credit… where credit is due.
Although CK is my name and Couponing is my game, it took someone special in my life to help me come as far as I have.
I hope I still have miles to go!
Her name is Ashley and she is my Sister-in-Law.
She moved out here about 5 years ago and was all of a sudden a “Stay at home (not yet) mom”!
She had been a VERY succsessful business women who graduated from a very prestigious college where she came from.
When she came out here, it took her awhile to figure out what she wanted to do… and then she had her daughter, Sienna… also known now as Boo!
Ashley started her own company called Lil Blue Boo and in order to promote herself, she had to start a blog and get fans to follow her on Facebook.
It’s only been a little over 2 years and now her success is, for a lack of better words, ADMIRABLE!
She now has well over 11,000 followers and the number grows each day.
When I lost my “Career” and I was down in the dumps and trying to figure out what the heck to do… a light bulb went off in my head.
If I am great at couponing… and people stop me and ask me all of the time about how to make it work and how to get one of my organizers… then I needed to follow Ashley’s lead and start my own Blog and Facebook page.
She has been there to answer any questions I’ve had and with her business intelligence, she has slowly taken some time out of her BUSY life to show me how to go about blogging.
I am so grateful to her because she had even allowed me to step into her business for a little “extra work” while my times are tough… and I’ve got to see some behind the scenes on how she does it.
If you haven’t checked out her site yet… YOU NEED TOO!
Savings isn’t all about using coupons… it’s all about Do It Yourself projects that not only keep you creative… but gives you the tools you need to have your own nice things and designs without spending a lot of money.
One of the BEST parts of being Ashley’s Sister-in-Law is that I get to benefit from her talents!!!
Here is my daughter wearing a Lil Blue Boo dress…
…and here is the Hardboard Nursery Art I’ve got to benefit from for my kids’ room!
We also had our 1st Children a few months apart and have been able to watch them grow up together!
My son is wearing a Lil Blue Boo screen printed shirt in this pic!
The purpose of this post is just to say… Thank You Ashley… I don’t think you know how many people you actually inspire… but I am one of them!
And I only hope that one day… my blog will be at least HALF of what yours is!
For anyone who hasn’t read my “About Me” page, you didn’t know that last year, I had unfortunately lossed my job that I had been with for over 11 YEARS. This was soon after finding out I was pregnant with my THIRD child in which we didn’t plan for! The economy had also hurt my husbands contracting business as well. With this trifecta of occurrences happening to us at once and having a family of now 5, I turned to couponing to try to save as much as I could because out bills weren’t changing obviously! (For a more detailed story, click on the “About Me” link to the right of your screen!)
It is one of the best things that I learned how to do because now I know there is no reason to EVER pay full price for anything! The money my family has saved couponing was able to go towards bills and other needful things. As I’ve been getting better at it, I feel there is no reason why I shouldn’t share my knowledge to help others out there that are in the same boat.
I’ve already blogged about many ways to save… or “Coupon Stacking” but now I am going to help you put together the perfect coupon organizer.
Let me tell you the reason, I think, it is so important to be organized in your couponing. It is easy to get started in the “Couponing” game, but it is also easy to fall out of it, get discouraged or just plain give up. I found that when I had a specific place to put all of my coupons and they were EASY to find when I needed them for a shopping trip, couponing became my HABIT instead of a chore!
This is my personal coupon organizer binder that has saved my family, literally, hundreds to thousands of dollars!
I have to admit that it is a little bit of an investment to create one of these, but anyone who coupons like me knows that the value of a coupon is very precious and the money you save buys it back really quick. You have to think of coupons as CASH!
I really don’t think that I would save as much if I didn’t stay organized.
With a custom index that covers all you major categories and sub categories, all you have to do is flip to the category you need and find your coupon!
I’ve created binders that have as little as 15 categories all to way to the binder that I have which has 48 categories!
To hold all of my coupons I use the 9 Pocket Sheet Protectors, just like you would use if you were a baseball card collector. I am able to fill these up, pull coupons out and the durability of these protectors holds up no problem! I use the Ultra-Pro Silver Series. I haven’t had to replace any pages yet!
Every Sunday is such and exciting day for me because it’s the day that I get to find new coupons! I literally sit at my table for the 2 hours while my kids nap and I cut coupons, organize them and do what I call the “Swap Out”. That means I put in the new, and take out the expired! By doing this, you get to sort of memorize what coupons you have so when you see a great deal in an ad or at the actual store; you sort of have a sense that you have the coupon for it! My husband calls these hours my “Zen” hours! Click here –> CouponCuttingTheCKWay for a more detailed tutorial on this!
Some people ask, “Isn’t it enough that I cut the coupons and just save them in an envelope or Tupperware bin?” Well, my personal answer is, “No! It’s not enough!” Because if a coupon isn’t easy to find… who is going to take the time to search for it and use it?
Let me show you what the benefits of organized couponing! This is a peek into the closets and cabinets in my house to show you how I “Stock” up!
Another reason for having an organizer is this… Sometimes you have no idea when you are going to stumble upon a great deal or clearance items. If you have your coupon organizer with you then this is when you go “JACKPOT”!!!
Here is an example of when that happened to me.
You’ll see by the receipt that I spent $12.12 for all this make-up with a savings of $233.08. I just happened upon this clearance while shopping for other items and had coupons for all of it!
Some might say that it’s a bit ridiculous to have this amount of product in your home but let me list a few reasons why it really is a great thing to do:
– You can spend your money on other things like bills, dinners, movies, vacations & more!
– You can make nice care packages for your family and friends to help them save too!
– With some of the products you accumulate, you can make nice gifts out of them.
– You can donate them to people who need them.
(Every Christmas, my husband and I hand out socks & sweat suits to the homeless… this year we will be able to include a hygiene package that will include a deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste!)
Giving is the most rewarding thing in life… even when you’re struggling yourself!
If you don’t want to create your own organizer… check out MyEtsy shop and see what products I have already created for you! Click here –> CKCustomCouponingMyEtsyShop
Do you have somewhere that you just throw extra coupons that you haven’t put in you coupon organizer yet?
Do you have a place to put all the coupons that don’t quite have a category in your organizer like your “Store Only” coupons, or restaurant coupons or coupons that you’ve matched (stacked) for a future shopping trip?
Well I have all of the above.!
At first I had something called my “Junk Coupon Box”, but I found that I’d forget about certain coupons before they expired or when I’d go to look for a certain coupon it would be sort of annoying!
This is when I came up with my “ORGANIZED Junk Coupon Box” if that makes any sense!
This is just a standard sized Playtex Bin that I used to store all my coupons that don’t have a place in my organizer.
I created a labeled envelope for all my “extra” coupons so that when I need to go find one… I just have to grab the envelope rather then sort through a box of loose coupons. I gave each store it’s own envelope; I created an envelope for all Office Supply coupons whether it’s for that actual office supply store or a manufacturer coupon for a certain office supply; I also created an envelope for my Target Stacker coupons since that is the place that I do most of my shopping.
I also created two VERY IMPORTANT envelopes… the “Need to Organize” coupon envelope and the “Need to File” coupon envelope.
These are important because I’ve been interrupted MANY times when I am filing coupons in my organizer and when I’d leave them out on the table… the curious hands of my 19month old would get to them and UN-Organize them for me! So this led me to stack them in their organized pile and stash them in an envelope until I have a quiet time to get back to them.
On the bottom of my bin is where I throw all my restaurant coupons. They come in all different sizes and are easy to sort through. That way, when my husband and I are lazy and don’t want to cook lunch or dinner, we at least save a little money if we end up eating out!
So if you’re a crazy coupon collector such as myself, it makes it a little easier by having an organized mess of coupons to go through!
If you’re still in need of a good coupon organizer… check out MyEtsy shop for already put together organizers or kits so you can put together your own.
